The New Neutral: Orange

From brights like coral & tangerine to more muted shades of amber & apricot, orange is everywhere for spring/summer 2013. In fact, Orange is so hot it’s being reported as the new neutral. From sweet summer dresses to darling eveningwear orange can be found just about everywhere this season. Designers such as Oscar de la Renta and Stella McCartney are embracing this orange trend, as seen featured in their resort 2013 collections on clothes, shoes and accessories.

Orange is one of those colors that looks great on almost every skin tone. Paired with black or nude it becomes a chic evening look and paired with turquoise or white you can easily achieve a beautiful daytime style.

I particularly love this incredibly beautiful ombré dress from Object Collectors. As you can see when combined with turquoise from these amazing earrings by Stella & Dot, the contrasting color really pops for a lovely summer look. While you could pair it with some flats, I just love these gorgeous “Lillian” sandals from Aldo. I think the patterned raffia sole really adds some textural interest to the outfit. Grab an oversized tote, like the woven one by Bottega Veneta featured here, and you are on your way. So, what do you think: is orange the new neutral for you?
