The look of summer: Maxi Dresses

Simplicity is key in these hot summer months. Normally, I am an advocate for layers upon layers but when the mercury rises you’d have to be crazy to put on anything other than what’s necessary. Honestly, if it was socially acceptable to wear my bathing suit everywhere I would! This is the reason I am so thrilled that Maxi Dresses are still going strong for Summer 2013. Minimum effort with maximum results!
It’s looking like this heat wave here in Austin is sticking with us, so ladies do not fear the Maxi dress! There’s a style for every silhouette, try these tips when trying on a Maxi dress:

If you’re a petite gal, look for an empire waistline to make your body appear longer. Also, try to avoid large prints that can overwhelm your smaller frame.

For those who tend to be bottom heavy, choose a style that looks like two pieces. Look for a lighter color on top and a darker color on bottom to achieve a very slimming style.

If you have an hourglass shape seek out styles that cinch in at the waistline and have a fuller skirt to flatter your curves.

If you are a busty gal, look for a v-neck style to flatter and balance your cleavage.

For the long and lean ladies, choose a column style to emphasize your athletic body shape.

Now that you’re armed with the information on how to choose the right Maxi dress, you are all set to achieve this easy summer style. Just accessorize and go!
